Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Kopcenter ("Kopcenter", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use the Kopcenter mobile app for iOS and Android, our website at kopcenter.com, and our partner dashboard (together, the "Services").
Kopcenter is a grocery delivery service operating in Venezuela. You choose a partner supermarket in our app, fill a cart, and a personal shopper buys the products and delivers them to your address. To do that, we need a limited amount of personal information — this policy describes exactly what, and why.
1. Information we collect
a. Account information
When you create a Kopcenter account we collect your name, email address, and phone number. If you register with an email and password, the password is stored only as a salted hash and is never visible to us.
b. Information from Sign in with Google
Instead of a password, you may create or access your Kopcenter account using Sign in with Google. See section 2 for full detail on what we receive and how it is used.
c. Delivery and location information
Delivery addresses you save, delivery notes and instructions, and — only if you grant the permission — your device location, which is used to centre the map when you pin a delivery address and to look up that address. Address lookups are performed through the Google Maps Platform. You can decline the location permission and enter your address manually.
d. Order information
The contents of your cart, order history, substitutions approved or rejected during shopping, chat with your personal shopper, delivery status, and payment status. Card and bank details are handled by our payment processors — Kopcenter does not store full payment card numbers on its servers.
e. Device and usage information
Device model, operating system and app version, language, IP address, crash reports, and in-app events (such as screens opened and orders placed). We use this to keep the app working, diagnose failures, and understand which features are used. Product analytics are processed by PostHog on our behalf.
2. Google user data
If you choose Sign in with Google, Google asks for your consent and then shares a limited set of data with Kopcenter. We request only the standard non-sensitive email and profile scopes. Specifically:
| Data we receive | Why we request it |
|---|---|
| Email address | To identify your Kopcenter account, to send you order confirmations and delivery updates, and to let you sign back in. |
| Name | To personalise your account and so the personal shopper and delivery driver know who the order belongs to. |
| Profile picture | To display your avatar in the app. |
| Google account ID | A stable identifier that links your Google account to your Kopcenter account, so you reach the same account every time you sign in. |
Kopcenter's use of Google user data is limited as follows:
- - We use it only to create and authenticate your Kopcenter account and to provide the ordering and delivery features you request.
- - We do not sell, rent, or trade Google user data, and we do not use it for advertising, ad targeting, or to build advertising profiles.
- - We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except to the service providers described in section 4, strictly to operate the Services, or where required by law.
- - We do not allow humans to read this data, except with your explicit consent, for security purposes such as investigating abuse, to comply with applicable law, or where the data has been aggregated and anonymised.
- - We request no sensitive or restricted Google scopes. Kopcenter has no access to your Gmail, Google Contacts, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Photos, or any other Google service.
Kopcenter's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can revoke Kopcenter's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page. Doing so stops future Google sign-ins; to also delete the data already held by Kopcenter, follow section 8.
3. How we use your information
- - To create, secure, and authenticate your account.
- - To take, process, and deliver your orders, and to handle substitutions and refunds.
- - To communicate with you about an order — confirmations, shopper messages, delivery status, and support requests.
- - To process payments and prevent fraud and abuse.
- - To operate, debug, secure, and improve the Services.
- - To send you promotional messages, only where you have opted in. You can opt out at any time without losing access to the Services.
- - To comply with legal obligations.
4. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these cases:
- - Personal shoppers and delivery drivers — they receive your first name, order contents, delivery address, phone number, and delivery notes, only for the order they are fulfilling.
- - Partner supermarkets and businesses — they receive the order details needed to prepare and invoice the purchase.
- - Service providers acting on our behalf — hosting and infrastructure providers, payment processors, messaging and email providers, mapping services (Google Maps Platform), and product analytics (PostHog). They may process your data only to provide their service to Kopcenter, under contract.
- - Legal and safety — where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Kopcenter, our users, or the public.
- - Business transfers — if Kopcenter is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, and we will notify you before it becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Legal basis for processing
We process your personal information because it is necessary to perform the contract we have with you (delivering your order), because you have given consent (location, marketing, Google sign-in), because we have a legitimate interest in operating and securing the Services, or because the law requires it.
6. Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Order and payment records are kept for as long as required for accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except for records we are legally required to keep.
7. Security
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with TLS. Passwords are stored hashed. Access to production data is restricted to the staff who need it to operate the Services. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where the law requires it.
8. Your rights and how to delete your account
You can access and correct most of your information directly in the Kopcenter app, under Account. You may also request access to, correction of, a copy of, or deletion of your personal information, and object to or restrict certain processing.
To delete your Kopcenter account and associated data, write to contact@kopcenter.com from the email address on the account with the subject "Delete my account". We will confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days.
9. Children
The Services are not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Kopcenter operates in Venezuela, and our service providers may store and process data in other countries. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we require the recipient to protect it under terms consistent with this policy.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
